Wondering what that black staining is?
While many homeowners have turned a blind eye to it, the black staining on your roof is actually a destructive organism called Gloeo Capsa Magma. The Asphalt Roofing Manufacturers Association (ARMA) recommends Sodium Hypochlorite as the preferred method of cleaning shingle roofs. Pressure washing will rip apart and destroy the granules that make up shingle tiles.
